What we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We are steel people — we keep it simple and we keep it safe.

1. Information we collect

Order & account details: name, company name, phone number, email address, delivery address, PIN code, GSTIN, and the items you order.
Quote & enquiry details: whatever you submit through the quote form, contact form or by phone.
Technical basics: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) used for security and performance.

We do not collect payment card details on this website — payments are made by bank transfer / UPI directly to our account.

2. How we use it

To process, cut, invoice and deliver your orders (including generating GST invoices and e-way bills).
To respond to quote requests and support queries.
To notify you about order status, dispatch and delivery.
To maintain statutory records required under GST and other Indian laws.
To improve the website and our service.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone. We do not send marketing messages without your consent.

3. Cookies & local storage

This website uses browser local storage (not tracking cookies) for practical functions: keeping your cart, remembering your login on this device, and storing your order receipts for the My Orders page. A session cookie is used for secure sign-in where the online database is enabled. Clearing your browser storage removes this data from your device.

Logistics partners — name, phone and delivery address, strictly to deliver your order.
Government portals — invoice and transport details where required for GST e-invoicing / e-way bills.
Hosting provider — our website and database are hosted on secure commercial infrastructure.
Legal authorities — only when required by law.

5. Data retention

Order and invoice records are retained as required by Indian tax law (currently up to 8 years). Quote requests and enquiries are retained for up to 2 years. You may ask us to delete account data that we are not legally required to keep.

6. Security

Access to customer data is restricted to authorised staff. Server-side data is protected with hashed passwords, session controls and access restrictions. No method of storage is 100% secure, but we take commercially reasonable measures appropriate to the data we hold.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data — and withdraw consent for non-essential processing — by writing to admin@sangamsteelsindia.com from your registered email. We respond within 15 days. This policy is aligned with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

8. Children

This is a business-to-business website. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

9. Changes & contact
