Refund & Cancellation Policy

Cut steel is made to order — so here is exactly when you can cancel, what can be returned, and how refunds work.

1. Cancelling an order

  • You may cancel free of charge any time before cutting begins — that is, while your order status is still Confirmed. Call us with your order ID or email us from your registered email.
  • Once the order status moves to Processing (material on the saw), custom-cut items can no longer be cancelled, because the pieces are cut specifically to your sizes.
  • Standard full-length bars (uncut) may be cancelled up to dispatch.

2. What can be returned

  • Custom-cut pieces are non-returnable once cut to your specification — except where we got it wrong (see below).
  • Our-mistake returns (free replacement or full refund): wrong grade supplied, wrong size/length supplied, pieces outside the agreed cutting tolerance, or quantity short of the invoiced weight.
  • Transit damage: bent, damaged or missing material must be noted with the transporter at delivery and reported to us within 48 hours with photos. We will replace the material or refund/credit its value.

3. How to raise a claim

  1. Call +91 70221 81008 or email admin@sangamsteelsindia.com within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Share your order ID / invoice number and photos of the material, tags and weighment slip.
  3. We respond within 2 business days. Where inspection is needed, our team or the transporter will arrange pickup — you never pay freight for our mistake.

4. Weight disputes

We bill on actual net weight verified on calibrated scales, and a weighment slip accompanies every dispatch. If your received weight differs beyond the industry-standard scale tolerance (±0.5%), we refund or credit the difference immediately on verification.

5. Refund method & timelines

  • Approved refunds are made to the same account the payment came from (bank transfer / UPI).
  • Refunds are initiated within 3 business days of approval and typically reflect in 5–7 business days depending on your bank.
  • Where you prefer, we can instead issue a credit note against your next order.
  • For part-cancellations (e.g., balance quantity not available within the promised lead time), the unfulfilled portion is refunded in full.

6. What is not covered

  • Change of mind after cutting has started, or ordering errors in sizes/grades entered by you (we will still try to help — call us).
  • Normal surface oxidation on black bars, or minor handling marks that do not affect the material specification.
  • Material altered, machined or heat-treated after delivery.
